4 string, 5 string & fretless Bass. studio/touring

About Me

Originally from Long Island, NY I started playing bass after a few years of classical guitar lessons. The heavy (at the time) sounds of Kiss & Motley Crue got me interested in playing bass. With the support from my parents I quickly loved the instrument & knew what i would be doing for the rest of my life. By 21 I was the house bassist for Sabella Recording Studios in Roslyn, NY. There I learned invaluable lessons in the art of bass playing & writing bass lines from owner/producer Jim Sabella. I moved to florida in 1998 & attended The Players School of music & studied with Jeff Berlin. After 3 semesters I began Tutoring & substitute teaching at the school for nearly 2 years. since then I've been fortunate to tour with several bands opening for many national acts. Most recently with the band ONE: (thebandone.com) on the independent label RockHard Records opening for major acts Sevendust & Nonpoint. I've done work for Shrapnel Records & CNC International Records "Tangerine" album by Vixen & TKO Records "Titania" album by Maxine Petrucci (maxattacks.com). Currently I'm playing for a very popular 80's cover band (www.menfronmarsband.com) in Florida & working on my new material which you can hear on this page. I'm also working on a new project called Rocktopuss with Roxy Petrucci (Vixen), Jeff Young (Megadeth) & Lorraine Lewis (Femme Fetal'). We've finished 2 songs & are working on more. I'm also fortunate enough to have done a couple of tracks for Jeff Youngs solo project which allows me to stretch out on the fretless. Hopefully both project will be done this year. I'll keep you posted as things finish up & are available. Always professional in every way, i'm ready to add to any recording or touring project. I have pro gear, stage presence & attitude. I'm confident in any situation on 4 or 5 string fretted & fretless bass. I also can sing & play guitar whenever needed. I have tons of musical experience, I'm an all around team player & will be a positive addition to any band or project. For a complete resume please e-mail me at [email protected] . Thanks for listening & enjoy! Michael J. Pisculli

Influences: I LOVE THE BEATLES!!!!!!!!!! Paul McCartney is god!!!! And let's not forget about Wings! Elvis Costello (he's God too) is the most prolific songwriter in our time. You owe it to yourself to listen to & learn from Elvis! Bruce Thomas' basslines with the Attractions rivals even Sir Paul! Jaco Pastorius (the best bassist PERIOD! especially his work with Joni Mitchell.), Motown from the 60's especially the Temptations (I love James Jamerson on those old Motown hits), The Police, Nonpoint (please check them out, the best metal band as far as I’m concerned.) Incubus, Union Underground, Kiss, Motley Crue (the last two are why I play bass. I loved Gene Simmons and Nikki Sixx when I was in high school), Graham Central Station (Larry Graham simply kicks every other funk bass players ass!), Led Zeppelin, Bach, Beethoven and Mozart (Moonlight Sonata is probably the most beautiful piece of music EVER written) and so much more. I can't forget to thank my beautiful wife Malissa for all her love & support & for doing all the work getting my music page up & running. I love you!!! The following slide show is of me, my wife & my little babygirl, Brittan, after she was born 4 weeks early on January 4th, 2007. She had to spend a little time at All Children's Hospital but she's doing great now & is happy & healthy. We could'nt be happier & prouder of her. We lover her sooooo much!!!!!!
