About Me

A Slovenian (jazz) vocalist. Growing up with piano and percussion lessons, she started with voice studies at the age of 18. In 2003 she began with jazz voice studies in Graz, Austria, first with Laurie Antonioli, later with Dena DeRose. She also spent a semester at the Amsterdam Conservatoire. Among her mentors are Irena Vidic, Ines Reiger, Laurie Antonioli and Dena DeRose. At the workshops she had a oportunity to meet and work with some of the jazz legends (Mark Murphy, Sheila Jordan, Bobby McFerrin, Jon Hendricks, etc.).

In 2004 she took the opportunity to reach beyond the jazz world with playing the main role in the original Slovenian musical drama Devil Woman (Vrazje dekle) written by Milko Lazar, a contemporary slovenian composer and musician.

She is a semi-finalist of the Brussels International Young Jazz Singers Competition in 2008, finalist of the Jazzon, Slovenian composition award, in 2008 and the winner of Jazzon 2009. With her band Playgrounds she was the finalist of the Jazz Hoeilaart 2008 competition in Belgium and the winner of the 2nd prize on International Kodolanyi Competition 2009 in Hungary.

She is currently pursuing her master's degree in jazz voice at the University in Graz and co-leads jazz quartett Playgrounds. Jazzwerkstatt photos by Johannes Gellner. Thank you!
