Inspired by Hardcore, Death Metal, Indie Rock, and Pop music, Clear the Canvas is one of the most diverse bands around today. Whether it's there intense breakdowns or melodic choruses they are bound to get your heads bobbing and your feet tapping. The talent shows mostly at there live shows, never disappointing they bring energy from all angels and all ways. Guitar throws, breaking drums, and an occasional guitar to the face are what pollute the venues they play. Making new music is key to them, and they are more then anything else, looking forward to getting back in to the studio to show there fans what they can really do with there instruments.
Clear the Canvas is made up by Conner Nicholson (Drums), Marvin Gomez (Guitar), Andrew Blancarte (Guitar), Matt Sokolis (Bass&Screams), and Camrun Penrose (Melodic Vocals&Screams). The band was formed in a the garage of Mr.Blancarte in 2000. At this point you couldn't really qualify them as a band, considering how there was two members (Andrew and Matt). But, they later came across Marvin, and began to be an 80's super cover band. They went through multiple drummers before they came across Conner, but the second they sat him down behind the kit they noticed they have something amazing there. The band then began playing shows all over Southern California, with Andrew on the vocals. After the band got together they decided to start auditioning new singers that might fit the style better. Not long after they ran into Camrun at a beach party. He mentioned he was a singer and they gave him a call a week later. He came in, and right away they were blown away by the strength behind his voice.
And then it began. Clear the Canvas was finally complete. No holes, no need for anything more from any instrument, the band was full and you couldn't possibly pack more talent into a five man group. Clear the Canvas has been playing shows all over California, and they soon hope to play all over the world. They are looking into getting into the studio soon, to show all of there fans there new, heavy, soft, loving, sound.
