About Me
In the early 90's, one of the biggest selling hip-hop tracks of all time proclaimed; California knows how to party. Today, perhaps no MC understands this better than Bay Area entrepreneur & rapper, Guilty Pleasurez. With a laid back delivery & chilled out persona, G. Pleasurez first came to light as a emcee in the bay areas thriving hip-hop scene. Inspired by such rapper/producers as Dr Dre, Jay-Z, Timbaland & Pharrell Williams, Guilty Pleasurez had begun by producing his own tracks in a self-built studio hidden in a vacant San Francisco Financial District building. When people found out the tracks that made the girls freak were my work, things started to snowball & pretty soon it came time to take it to the next level; I got motivated, organized my own hip-hop shows & brought the hits to the people on stage with a full live band. Guilty has also broken from the rap fold's norm of samples & programmed parts with his use of live instrumentation, both in & outside the recording studio. After producing tracks, I felt I needed to go live to get the freshness on the track, & on stage, forget about it, the stuff drops with way more intensity. G.P.'s latest collection of tracks, entitled Shirts & Shoes is set to drop this summer on Liff Life records. The album, which features session players from the Bay Area, Scotland, France & Zimbabwe, was completed in a private room within a well know North Beach strip club, the name of which we can't mention for legal reasons. G. comments; the technology has become so portable, you can take it anywhere & cut killer tracks... & hey, where better to make party music than in the middle of a party? Guilty Pleasurez party-borne groove provides a refreshing alternative to the glut of played-out posturing & uninspired tracks that comprise the sound of many of his contemporaries. A unique combination of dance floor ready beats, live instruments & smooth flows meld together to produce a vibe that comes directly from the party & sounds like it. He concludes; that's my mission, make everyone feel like they came to the dopest party when they hear my cuts... & as for Guilty Pleasurez, I just gotta keep partying, stacking that paper & always keep my tracks fresh & my delivery tight; the rest will take care of itself.
