They are not just another group of up and coming artists out of South Florida. Florida’s newest hottest duo is ready to take the south, up north and the Midwest by storm with their catchy hooks and infectious beats. STATUS and NI$E are natives of Florida and New York that started out playing around with the idea of making music. After realizing their talent, they’ve decided to bless the masses with their sound. STATUS and NI$E are serious about making good music. Not just good music for the moment, but the type of good music you put in your CD player or listen to on you iPod to reminisce about when music was good!STATUS and NI$E have known one another since they were in middle school. They moved onto high school with one another where they met Paul, (who is the founder of B.S.E). Recordings took place under the supervision of their new found friend and that’s when musical magic started to begin. Upon their graduation, the three started taking their after school hobby seriously.Like most struggling artists, STATUS and NI$E had a few setbacks. Since NI$E moved out to Ft. Lauderdale from Brooklyn, and STATUS grew up in South Florida, they have gone through some things. The hardest thing for them was to stay focused while growing up in neighborhoods that weren’t exactly the picture of the American dream.STATUS was born 7.29.1984 at Jackson Memorial Hospital. As a youth, he resided with his family in the city off of the infamous 79th St.. Its infamy comes from its notorious prostitute population and infestation of drugs. STATUS was lucky to attend a high school outside of the city, Miami Union Academy, where he ended up meeting NI$E.After graduating, STATUS began working towards obtaining a degree. About two years ago, he was blessed with the birth of his son, Justin, whom has become his sole source of motivation to succeed. When STATUS is not busy being a father, he can be found on the basketball court, in the studio or just enjoying the company of his friends.STATUS was made a father but he has made making life comfortable for his friends and family his mission. What better way to achieve this than through music?
NI$E, of Haitian decent, was brought to us on 01.16.1987 in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up in Crown Heights with his father and in Park Slope with his mother. At the age of 12, NI$E moved out to the ‘Shallow Side’ of Lauderhill with his mother. He attended Plantation High School for a year before attending and graduating from Miami Union Academy. While in school, NI$E discovered his passion for rapping but thought it would take him anywhere. That way of thinking persisted until meeting STATUS…someone else that shared the same passion.NI$E’s taste in music is very eclectic. It ranges from rap to rock and everything in between except for country. Some of the artists that he most enjoys are Jay- Z, Biggie Smalls, Kanye West, Paul Wall, Linkin Park, Nickelback, Fall Out Boy and Travis Barker.At the end of the day, NI$E has only one ambition for his life. He wants nothing more than to make his parents proud of him by becoming a successful businessman and great entertainer.
