I'm new in my area, so I'm really looking to meet people who are out to have a good time, go to concerts (my god, the amount of good music here is insane), have some drinks, shoot some pool, talk about why we're here and why we do the silly things we do, and just generally enjoy life without all of the emotional baggage that comes with trying to adhere to trends and name-drop, ect. ect. Insert other annoying yippie trends here. I don't do the money bling-bling deal, I prefer to stay as real and grounded as possible, but leave myself open to having lofty goals and sharp convictions.

Man oh man. I like too many to go on about here... okay a short list... Fight Club, Pi, The Majestic, SLC Punk, Rushmore, Memento, The Red Violin, The Professional, Grosse Point Blank, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, Clerks and the entire View Askewniverse, and so on... I'm a big fan of the Independant Film Channel so I don't even remember the names of the more recent films I've seen. No, that does not make me pretensious. :)
Since I've moved cross-country, I haven't had the time for television. I seriously doubt I ever will get back around to that particular worthless persuit. I gave my television away, and I really don't miss it. Okay, okay, so I used to cheat and catch episodes of The Daily Show every once in a while, fine. Don't own one now, and I'm in no rush to purchase one.
I've been trying to get my head around The Illuminatus! Trilogy lately (ye-ikes), also got Barack Obama's new book for christmas, as well as The Red Quuen (thanks Selina!) Otherwise I'm constantly surfing news sites on the internet and doing other various forms of online research.
So hard to choose heroes in modern American society when we have a prediliction to tear them down... hmmm. Hunter Thompson for doing it his way, rules be damned. My father, for being the man he is and doing everything he can to stay an honorable man and a true to himself in this changing world. My mother for always telling me to set my mind free and instilling a die-hard sense of individualism. Each and every peson I meet that has a mind freed from the garbage of modern society and can think for themselves. And each and every person that's shed blood or died so that we can be here today, free willed and unoppressed.
