Slovenia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest eleven times, debuting in 1993 and competing in every year since, with the exceptions of 1994 and 2000.
Slovenia has not competed in the final since 2003 due to the introduction of the semi-final stage.
Slovenia's worst placing was in Istanbul, Turkey on May 15th, 2004, when Platin placed 21st in the semi-finals with the song "Stay Forever".
Slovenia's best placing was in Dublin, Ireland on May 13th, 1995, when Darja Švajger placed 7th with her song "Prisluhni Mi", and in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 12th, 2001, when Nuša Derenda placed 7th with her song "Energy".
Alenka Gotar will represent Slovenia in Helsinki in 2007. Since Anžej Dežan failed to place in the top 10 in 2006, Alenka will compete in the semi-final with her song "Cvet Z Juga", on May 10, 2007 in Helsinki.
