Coming to you right now, from San Antonio Texas (by way of BERNICE, LOUISIANA) is Dante Powell II. The creative mind behind the music, and half of the new untitled rap group duo featuring himself and Highstrung.As the times change, so do most musical artists, in hopes of keeping themselves relevant to the listener. Only the strongest survive, and stay true to themselves, and what they do best. That attitude, coupled with an amazing work ethic, and an amazingly supportive inner circle, has taken Dante from the small town hopes of just "getting out and doing better for himself", to striving to not only place that small town on the map of relevance, but to do so with good reason.Growing up listening to the likes of Master P, Outkast, Hot Boyz, and other popular southern artists of the time gave instant insight on hard work, and good music paying off. It wasnt until taking an interest in Jay-Z that Dante began writing, himself. "I was so impressed with his ability to speak of a situation in depth, and allow you to close your eyes, and picture it as if it was happening to you right then, it made me begin wondering what it would be like to have everyone in the world listen while I explained the daily motions of my life, and where I lived, and I began writing to fulfil that."While in college, Dante began recording in his dorm room with friends for fun, completing: "My First Mixtape: Sweet 16's", "My Next Mixtape: Southern Royalty", and "Another Mixtape: Someone Sign Me!". After receiving a warm response, he immediately began looking for a way to continue making music, but was met with numerous obstacles.After meeting and befriending Paul "Highstrung" Hightower in 2007, it became apparent that things were once again moving in the right direction. The two immediately hit it off, and began collaborating on songs for Highstrung's album "The Definition". The two made for an amazing group, and soon after they began recording together, Dante partnered with Highstrung (as well as their engineer Q), and their "Tight Eyez/T.Dot Ent."record label.That leaves us here. The two are currently working furiously on a demo to shop to major labels, as well as an album for their current fans in appreciation for all their continued support.
