About Me


Lourds Lane, lead singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist of the band LOURDS, began her training at age three on violin and piano and was soon declared a musical prodigy. Her teachers showcased her talents in world-renowned competions, concert halls (including Carnegie Hall), and youth orchestras. Yet she could never adapt to the strict regimentation the classical establishment demanded. Something explosive awaited its spark.
Fusing the inherent drama, emotionalism and eclecticism of classical music with hooky choruses, a taste of timeless classic rock, and a twist of modern crunch, Lourds Lane showcased her original music by forming the band, LOURDS. Defying all confinement, Lourds Lane as frontwoman of LOURDS, explodes on stage -- switching instruments between electric violin, mandolin, and electric guitar -- with the power, passion and fashion recalling the arrival of her spirt mentors, Freddie Mercury and David Bowie. As the band, LOURDS rises as an unstoppable team, Lourds Lane continues to make her own individual mark in studios as a writer and producer, a singer, and a multi-instrumental studio musician.
The birth and metoric rise of "VICTORY" was cosmic and sudden. Constantly inundated with original music in her mind, Lourds had a dream of a quirky song idea, woke up in the middle of the night, and immediately called co-producer friend, Ray Cervenka. Upon singing the kitschy hand-clapping chorus to "GOODBYE LOSERS," Ray instantly understood the mega-anthemic potential of the song. The next day, the two started putting the track together at their home-base, NELSON/O-REILLY studios. Track by track, Lourds laid down every instrument, including a distorted violin solo in the chorus. Ray cut up the drums and added his genius pro-tools tricks to make the track pump with futuristic, industrial muscle, In one magic burst of inspiration, by day's end, the song was finished.
With instant positive feedback from ESPN due to Industry executive Sherrie Fell who got the track to ESPN, an alternate version of "GOODBYE LOSERS" was created called "VICTORY," with a focus on team sports. Due to Sherrie Fell's persistance with the idea to turn "Goodbye Losers"into a more positive theme, in a matter of days, "VICTORY" was dubbed by ESPN as the next "WE WILL ROCK YOU" for sporting events and the defining battle-cry of the underdog. Licensed by ESPN and ABC FOOTBALL, this little musical dream of Lourds Lane, with the help of Bernadette O'Reilly President of Breaking Records who single handedly made the album a reality. The single took on a life of it's own, recently receiving a glowing single review by rock writer, Christa Titus in Billboard. (August 5, 2006).

A little about us:

Breaking Records is an independent record label based out of NYC. One of our artists, Lourds Lane, lead singer of LOURDS wrote a sports anthem called "VICTORY," which is now being heard on ESPN and ABC football, and soon in sports stadiums all over the globe!
