About Me

<aBorn in Alburquerque, New Mexico in June of 1977, Carlos Miguel Campos begin his life under the wing of his mother. She moved him up to northern Colorado when he was six years of age, where he would continue and finish his general education. Spending his summers in Santa Paula, California with his father from the time when he was six years old, until he decided for himself that traveling about the country would be a more sufficient way of life. Starting out at a young age enveloped by music of all kinds but, mostly...it was Hip-Hop that made him tick. It was Hip-Hop that made him beg his mother for a boombox and it was the radio that would, like any young child in the early eighties, guide him in the direction of a movement more sought after today than Rock n' Roll in the sixties. In the early nineties, with radio rap on a steady decline, at least in his mind, he was exposed to more expansive sounds....a whole lot of Blues, Jazz and Classic Rock. John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Led Zeppelin, Robert Johnson, Traffic, Bob Dylan, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, the Who, the Doors...the list goes on. But, the Grateful Dead being the most profound, opened up a can of worms never to be closed. Honestly, if it was not for this band, he would have not found the place he calls home today. Upon graduating high school...he took his big head full of ideas and left his home to travel the country in search of something. Starting to wander about in 1992, he would spend ten years searching for what was to be his destiny. While traveling he found new bands and followed their music, all which seemed to bear a slight resemblance. Not in content, of course, but in character. He would continue to follow these bands, almost religiously, not ever thinking that this music he craved so much was actually a part of who he was. Not until he stopped moving did he find out....that what he had spent his whole life chasing was a huge part of his existence. After landing in Humboldt County in the spring of 2002, he began climbing the walls. "What was it all worth?'', he asked himself. After a bit of reflection and contemplation, he started writing. Unsure of his purpose, he pushed himself further and furthur until he would revert back to his original influence, Hip-Hop. Once locked into place, with a sense of who he was buried deep inside his notebook, he bought an MPC4000 and transformed his altered state from Carlos Miguel to Los Blooms. To find out more about his journeys, be on the lookout for "My Characteristics". It will be, long awaited, his first of many self-forged projects, with it's creation spanning a three year long trek. It being some of the most introspective work he will ever produce.

Influences:“The apocalypse is not something which is coming. The apocalypse has arrived in major portions of the planet and it's only because we live within a bubble of incredible privilege and social insulation that we still have the luxury of anticipating the apocalypse. If you go to Bosnia or Somalia or Peru or much of the third-world then it appears that the apocalypse has already arrived.” - TERRENCE MCKENNA-------"If we could sniff or swallow something that would, for five or six hours each day, abolish our solitude as individuals, atone us with our fellows in a glowing exaltation of affection and make life in all its aspects seem not only worth living, but divinely beautiful and significant, and if this heavenly, world-transfiguring drug were of such a kind that we could wake up next morning with a clear head and an undamaged constitution-then, it seems to me, all our problems would be wholly solved and earth would become paradise."-ALDOUS HUXLEY-------------- "If we had any nerve at all, if we had any real balls as a society, or whatever you need, whatever quality you need, real character, we would make an effort to really address the wrongs in this society, righteously." -JERRY GARCIA
