About Me

In Whom Do You Place Your Trust?
A Little Bit About Me:
You can see from this page and my blogs, where I now stand in my life. So I'm gonna use this space to briefly/vaguely clue you in on an important part of my journey.
There was once a time in my life, when I was SO VERY ultra-competitive...and not just in track and field...that it was almost obsessively important, in my mind, to be on the winning side of everything!! It wasn't that I bragged about myself to others. It was just a desire to win that seemed innocent enough to me. But then that desire started to grow into an obsessive inner pride that gave me a strong feeling of self-importance, which I knew would surely fuel greater peer acceptance...note: I was a teen-ager! And this inner obsession was, at the time, beginning to lead me in directions that I have since learned...with a great deal of humility...woulda been very bad roads to travel!!
(OBSESS is a key root word above)
In retrospect, I can see that the more the 'world' gave me these temporal victories, the further I would drift from His Word, choosing to seek other paths, instead. Plus, on the occasions when I wasn't a part of that winning side, an almost sickening sense of failure would come over me. Perhaps the two were related. Hmmm!!:o)
All I can say is "Thank God I managed to muddle through that time in order to grow up!!"
Now, a large part of that 'growing up' began a bit later in my teenage years. After being gravely knocked out by a car, and suddenly becoming practically an invalid for a spell, I learned a very valuable lesson...my total obsession with winning was something that placed a barrier between me, and what God wanted for me. I now believe that this impenetrable barrier of my own making, was preventing me from 'hearing' what He was saying. What I mean, is that in His Walk, Jesus never became involved with worldly traits such as pride, and needing to prove that He was more athletic than the next guy...or smarter...or richer...or in any way better than anyone else! The only important thing was to listen to and trust His Father's Will. But without being able to 'hear', this Guidance from Above would've been completely in vain!!('hearing' comes in many forms)
Again, in retrospect, I can see that the more I had an obsessive pride in temporal victory, the less I'd hear. Thus drifting further from His Word.....and starting to seek other paths, instead.
Through the years since, I've always tried to live a somewhat anonymous life...anonymous, but within shouting distance of normalcy.(lol) With certain exceptions, I think my life has been fairly close to that.:o) Though so-called 'gainful' employment was/is definitely out of the question, volunteer work has been a huge blessing to me. THERE'S NO BETTER MEDICINE THAN DOING THINGS FOR OTHERS!
The Lord has done, and still does, some pretty amazing miracles in my life, and gives me blessings each day that I'm extremely thankful for. Of course, I've had to sometimes accept that many people who don't really know me, may feel I live a life that's rather 'priviledged'...for lack of a better word. And therefore, prejudicially judge me as a 'snob' or some other similar term.
But believe me, those who DO know me...KNOW BETTER!!! They know the daily struggles I go through. And how those struggles enable me to better assist others!
So enjoy basking in the peace and victory...which comforts from within...whenever you choose to live for God's Will! It's true that Righteousness isn't usually among the most 'popular' choices we make in this world. But then again, it's equally true that 'popularity' IS very fleeting...while His Righteousness steadily continues on!!!
By the way: I try to keep this profile page fairly simple so that it'll load up on my computer quickly & easily. And it's been formatted at a 1024x768 resolution...whatever that means!(lol) Sorry if anything on it, or in my blogs, doesn't work out quite right, though. I'm in a continual learning mode. Plus, computers & myself aren't exactly compatable with each other!!
So please let me know of ANY problems!
Thanks for understanding!!

Who I'd Like To Meet:
Of course, I look forward to meeting Jesus(face to face), along with quite a few others who've sacrificed a great deal for me!
I'd also be a bit curious to meet some historical figures...and ask them "What in the world were you thinking?" But then again, it would probably be in my best interest if I was never to get the chance! Ya know what I mean?! :o):o)
And I guess that in THIS lifetime, I'd like to meet as many different people as I possibly can.(but on an individual, personal basis)

John 14:23-27:
Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Miscellaneous Stuff:

"My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."
~Colossians 2:2-3

Many search the world over chasing for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It would save so much time, effort, & aggravation(at the very least!), if only we would first look for meaningful treasures in the one place they're guaranteed...
AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS!!!

The Rainbow...God's promise to Noah that He'd never flood the Earth again!! And a testament to the beauty that can be created when so many different colors & shades come together as one.
Take away the light or the water...and the rainbow no longer exists. Erase any color(red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, or violet)...and the picture would be incomplete! Remove the countless combinations of those colors...and it's not uniquely special anymore!
And even with the 'light' & the 'water', all the colors & shades still need one another to be the beautiful rainbow we see. They are there to kinda 'support' each other as a team!

God's artistry is so perfectly planned out!!!!

"Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us."
~Romans 12:4-6

"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building."
~1 Corinthians 3:6-9

"If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand."
~Mark 3:25

Jesus replied to him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" Pointing to his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."
