The Soundcasters are an alt/rock/grunge band from Brisbane, Australia. The band was originally put together by singer/guitarist Clint Morrow as an outlet for a few songs he'd written in his bedroom. Anthony Swann (bass/vocals) also contributes to songwriting duties. The Soundcasters are rounded out by drummer Ben Thompson and lead guitarist Andrew Swann. Brisbane singer/songwriter John Meyer has also been known to make guest appearances from time to time.
The band's musical influences range from early nineties grunge to mid-sixties pop with Jeff Buckley and Morrissey-inspired morose lyricism. With two prolific songwriters and a large backlog of material, The Soundcasters more often than not will road test at least one new song at every gig.
The Soundcasters' debut album 'Unhinged' was released in July 2009 with a sold-out show at The Troubadour in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley. The band then followed this with a tour of Australia's east coast, taking in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne amongst others.
The band are planning to follow up their debut album with a new single to be recorded in early 2010. The single will also mark the band's first foray into the world of video clips.
