About Me
- A “Diva†in the making….Elbonee “Trece†Stevenson has been preparing for stardom since the age of six. Placing her faith in God at an early age, she started developing her booming attention-grabbing style of vocalizing through constant practice in her church choir. A club owner caught wind of her skills and began managing the young star, but her parents felt she was too young and didn’t allow her to pursue a career.Being chosen out of only five people in her school to participate in the School of Performing Arts, Trece learned a variety of techniques needed to fully exploit her voice. She was trained in opera, jazz, blues, and R&B. At the age of 20 she became the choir director at her local YMCA, for a youth program. She had her sites set on going commercial when she ran across a group called Anon. This began the long journey of shopping for the right home. Not feeling comfortable with operations within these labels, she went freelance on tracks for Ghetto Angel Records, Dark Sun Entertainment, Da Devils Den, ImAStar, BreakThough, Let Loose Beats and a few other independents. She also sang with a local blues band - Eastside Edition – for 3 years and Catfish Kitchen Band- for 1 year. Finally, Trece thought she found a home studio but still no luck so she decided to collaborate with a couple local studios to finish her album. Trece’s album, titled “I’m Waiting†was released on September 16, 2006.
