When most people associate Connecticut and Hip-Hop, it’s mainly to state where 50 Cent now resides, or to diss 50 by saying he lives in the woods. Most tend to overlook CT. as to think Hip-Hop goes from New York and drives through here in order to get to Boston. In short, CT. is slept on. Nas said it best “ Sleep is the cousin of Death†on NY State of Mind, cause from the streets of CT. comes D.N.P (short for Dollas N Power) making his mark as to being the next best to do it.
D.N.P ‘s music comes from all types of angles of life, and he puts it in ways that almost anybody from all regions can relate to, be it north, south, east, or west. Unlike most artists today who seem scared to express themselves on record and stick to the formula of what’s hot now, D.N.P gives you himself as is from what he’s seen, done, and is living. No Bentley’s, 23’s, 100 ct Diamonds, or bricks of you know. But that theme music to inspire through the everyday struggles normal people go through.
D.N.P has been honing his skills since the age of 10. With the launch of his website www.dnponline.net , a couple mixtapes under his belt, and an album titled “On My Grind†in which he’s pushing independently, D.N.P is making his claim as the next best to do it a strong argument.
