About Me

I've been making a living playing jazz piano in Los Angeles for over twenty years. I've played in some of the finest hotels, clubs and private homes..both solo and with some of the greatest musicians around. I've been able to play for the well known and the hardly known..prominent people in the world of business, politics and entertainment and had my music played on KLON (KJAZZ) by legendary DJ Chuck Niles. In short..I've been a very lucky guy and I'm thankful daily for my good fortune. ------------My musical interests have always been very eclectic and have included playing blues/rock guitar while studying and falling in love with jazz as a teenager, writing commercial pop/r&b songs, playing stride and boogie woogie piano, writing a satirical broadway song sung by Meryl Streep in the movie "Death Becomes Her" and a host of other musical detours along the way. ----------------------------------------------All of these things pale with the excitement I have for writing, playing and recording my own music that is a combination of my lifetime of influences and inspirations. Is it original? Is it jazz? Is it pop? I don't know! No clue! All I know is that the amazing musicians I recorded with (Larry Koonse/guitar, David May/bass, Kendall Kay/drums) and I tried to put our hearts and emotion into recording the best music we could. We had a great studio (Firehouse Studios), a wizard of a producer (Malcolm Cecil) and the wind at our backs. I look forward to writing and recording more music in the near future and I hope you all enjoy what I'm able to share with you on this website.
