Myspace Profile Tracker World Visitor Map Canorous in style, The Imagine melds indie and post-hardcore with screamo and hardcore into one musical hodge-podge and have been rampaging out of Poughkeepsie, New York for 2 years. The Native-American translation for Poughkeepsie is “campsite by small water,” which really has no relevance in a band bio, but a little educational fact never hurt anyone. Righty-O and The Imagine is a band who finds education vital as they spend every show trying to teach their fans the importance of fun times and good intentioned tomfoolery. Sound wise The Imagine intertwines mellow musical segments that are often accented by explosive change ups that are bound to pull any pit enthusiast out of their head nodding trance.
Shortly after their formation in March of 2005, The Imagine played their first show with Victory Records mainstay, The Sleeping, as they also self-financed and recorded their debut E.P., “Perfection Is a Myth.” They followed the release with an east coast tour supporting The Concubine (Corrosive Records). Nevertheless, early success did not prevent lineup changes from taking place, but in the end The Imagine managed to solidify the team as they now have a steady roster. The Imagine is simply a potent mix of tender music love met head on by an out of control freight train carrying numerous meth labs sure to explode on impact. Too much? Well if you imagine anything is possible.
