Potna Deuce

Potna Deuce hails from Vallejo, Northern California. The group was signed to Profile Records in the early 90s with the album titled 'Welcome to the Tilt'. Johnny Z, Baby Bash, RTR & Richie Fangaz were the producers of that album. They were the first group from Vallejo to have their video shown on BET. They received 3 1/2 mics in the Source magazine long before mics were given away like candy. RTR, DH, Chezki & Baby Beesh (now better known as Baby Bash) were the 4 original members of the group. In the mid 90s the album titled 'Heron Soup' was independently released by the indie label High Powered Entertainment. This album quickly became an underground Bay Area classic. This was one of the 1st compilation albums by a single group created to date including Bay Area greats such as Mac Dre, Spice 1, Saafir, Ephriam Galloway, Michael Cooper (from Confunction) and a list of other heavy hitters. They released 'The Uncut Heron Soup Goop' in 2005 which was a remix & remaster of the previous favorites of the original Heron Soup and also 9 newer songs. RTR (aka Ru tha Fu) & DH (aka 86) are the remaining members of the group. The newest album 'Potna Deuce go Dumb & Dumber' is their best work to date. This album will make you laugh at some things you've never heard anyone ever rap about as well as make you press rewind as you hear some of the best lyrics you have heard to date. Most of the production is done from Richie Fangaz & Sonny B, who have produced tracks for greats from Tu Pac to Too Short (to list a couple). This album is unlike any music you've probably ever heard & is sure to be another underground classic!!! - ON MAMAZ!!!
