About Me

I was born in 1978, started to play the electric bass in 1995 with rock and jazz bands then started to play double bass (this instrument was a present from my sister !) I obtained an A-grade (DEM) of improvisation at Strasbourg music academy in 2006. Now, I continue classical studies.

I play with jazz bands and classical orchesters. I write music for my bands. Open to different styles of music, I'm interested in rythm and sound. I love free improvisation but also written music. The only important thing for me is that music must tell a story.

Voici un petit extrait d'un concert avec le quartet Groof où je remplaçait Adrien Dennefeld pour l'occasion. Retrouvez Groof en cliquant ici

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Zibidi:
Zibidi is the name given to a bizarre guy in Istanbul. Zibidi trio with Christophe Rieger (sax) and Nicolas Demelt (drums) invents the Brank-Beat. They open the borders between jazz and pop in a really convincing style.

JBA trio:
Contemporary Jazz trio with Jean-Baptiste Aubert (p) and Raphaël Sonntag (drums) Very poetic and free music, nice compositions mostly from Jean-Baptiste, a lot of freedom in improvisations.

Isaka:
A french composer, writer and singer woman. She has nice texts in french and a rich musical universe. We play in trio with Yuko Oshima (my wife) at drums.

Trio tourne-sol:
Accoustic trio with Christophe Oury (acc) and Christian Ott (gtr). We play our own tunes but also music from Astor Piazzola, Richard Galliano, traditional dance music (musette, tango, etc..) and some jazz standards.

Cian:
Electronic band with Christian Houlle (Vocal, keyboards of the Weepers Circus) Reno Méhier de Mathuisieulx (Drums) Christian composes, writes and arrange his music. Discover him on http://www.myspace.com/egocian

Kwint trio:
Jazz trio with David Florsch (sax) and Jean Bernhard (drums). We play contemporary and free jazz. There's good sound and energy in this band !

Brain child:
Jazz quartet initiated by Sébastien Saemann with Daniel Dupret (Drums) and Philippe Obrecht (p). There's no doubt we play modern jazz !
