About Me

I am a music lover extraordinaire based out of Columbus, Ohio, but with eyes and ears stretched out to the world. Call me a "musical midwife"--- as I am actively engaged in a number of things all directed toward making music happen. I present and promote a concert series here called The Icebox Music Series, and also make a point to help other musicians in booking dates and to make connections between musicians wherever possible.I'm also a musician myself. I play acoustic piano, Rhodes, and various synths....plus trap set/percussion. I play improvised music mainly, enjoying the freedom to create in the moment and compose in the moment, as well as being able to bring so many influences to bear on the music within any given piece. Like many improvisers, I take influence not only from jazz and the blues but different world musics, electronic music, dub, classical music, and even metal. I am involved in a local creative and improvised music collective here called THE OUTPOST Creative Music Collective. (check out the MySpace link)The main purpose for my "MySpace" music page --- I'd like to make a point to use it to document what I've been working on and so to elicit honest feedback from other musicians and listeners. Please drop me a line then and let me know what you think of any MP3 that I've posted on here. I appreciate compliments but I'm not going to take any critique personally so long as it seems constructive and not just a slam. I'm always interested in working on different projects too, so if you hear what I do in what you do somehow, let a guy know. Allright now, best to you and thanks for stopping by. real editor best profile tools

Sounds Like: I became a straight-ahead jazz snob in the early years of college, then I had an epiphany about free jazz hearing it LIVE for the first time. More recently I have an obsessive interest in vamp-driven/bass line driven rhythms and so have gotten a lot more hip to dub, metal, funk, and hip-hop....listen and just tell me what you think it sounds like.
