Scottish born Sonam Gray, trained as a recording engineer in Scotland at Perth Rock School and SAE technology college. Also dj'ing actively in House/Techno music. After moving and working in studios in London, assisting clients including Soul II Soul, Simply Red and Beverly Knight, he went on to re train as a Sound Designer, at The University of the Arts. After which he worked on Short films and documentaries as Boom Operator/ Sound Mixer, post production, web sounds and installation soundscapes/collaboratory AV work. Concurrently playing live performances with Miso Soup, Bomb 20, Nick Luscombe, sasha, and working on studio collaborations solo and also with others namely Miso Soup, E-da (Boredoms, jp), Capitol k, SSSR, VJ Sapo and Ryo. He also mixed ambient music and chilled beats in bars and cafes, including a residency in Brick lane, Shoreditch.In 2005 he finished his graduate course in Sonic Arts, specializing in Surround Diffusion and interactive work (Max MSP, Reaktor)Finally after years of travelling and working back and forth over the Atlantic, in September 2006, he moved to settle in New York City. Where he will continue to forge and propogate the bible of Sound Design and electro accousticness.
