If love and romance are the traditional national preoccupations of France , then who better to evoke these subjects than a beautiful Frenchwoman?Dancer/choreographer/actor/director/performance artist Nathalie Broizat performs with Jarred Cairns, Marnie Castor, Alexis Hunt, Ariadna Rodriguez and Clint Steinhauser in a new movement-based dance theatre piece that “unfolds around the pangs and delights of the heart.â€Mlle. Broizat elaborates on the surreal, non-narrative piece that she has created: “Act One deals with the broken heart and the grieving heart. Act Two deals with the healing heart and the heart that is able to love again.â€Nathalie Broizat graduated from Paris Dance University , subsequently attending New York ’s Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies as a Fulbright Scholar. She has made Los Angeles her home since 2003. A few of the many performances pieces created by her include “Delusion,†“Laugh is Life,†“To love and to hold,†“Destiny,†“Chouchou,†“No Regrets,†much more. Her works have been performed extensively at venues throughout Los Angeles and throughout New York City, in Chicago and at the University of Mississippi .Her cast members variously specialize in dance, music and performance art. All, including Mlle. Broizat, are also members of the Rachel Rosenthal Company.“Amour, Where Are You?†begins at 8:30. It will be preceded starting at 8 p.m. by two performance art pieces. Visual and performance artist Alexis Hunt will present a piece created by her that, while not giving too much away, “welcomes the audience to enter the theater with heart.â€Performance artist and vocalist Marnie Castor will present a short solo piece of her creation entitled “I love you,†featuring love songs of Patsy Cline. Ms. Castor has previously toured the Great Plains as a Patsy Cline impersonator.Amour, Where Are You? Hopefully at Highways Performance Space on March 13 or 14.
