The Haunted Skyscraper

I'm Joseph from the great state of Connecticut, USA. Welcome to the Haunted Skyscraper. I made this site dedicated to the hauntings of the old Union Trust building in -New Haven- , CT. For decades this building has been the center of some the most amazing and chilling paranormal activity in the state. From voices in the night, to ghosts walking within the basement. The building seems to have a soul of its own. Spiritual activity has culminated during times of religious introspection, deep thought and fear. But paranormal encounters have also appeared during times of complete tranquillity, or when certain people from the buildings past have visit.
The question most often asked is, why is it haunted? No one can say for sure why any one place is haunted. But one can culminate information about a location to construct some kind of portrait. We know the Union Trust property dates back to the early 1640's. Just across the street from the Union Trust building is the -New Haven Green- , where some 10,000 bodies are still barried from the days it was once a cemetary. The old crypt still remains under the Green, while the head stones were removed and placed at the -Grove Street Cemetary- just blocks away. Also, numerous people have passed away in the building, the most imfamous being Old Man Scott in the Tower area.
But maybe a haunting was best described by Steve King's The Shining. "Sometimes when things happen, it can leave a trace of itself behind. Say someone burned toast, well maybe other things that happen can leave a trace behind also. Not things everyone can see, but only with people who shine can see." I still keep a few nights a week to study the activity and collect the stories as paranormal activity appears. People from all walks of life have seen, heard and felt the spiritual powers of this ominous building. Of course there are those who have been in the building for years and have yet to have a parnormal encounter. It seems not all people are able or willing to connect. I've been married to my wonderful wife Yoko for 10 years! We both use this site so you can get to know both of us! We enjoy international travel so much, that we now have a small home in -Osaka- , Japan which we use when we visit her family. Spring or autumn are the best times to see Japan. Often we take the -Shinkansen- (Bullet Train) to -Tokyo- -Kyoto- -Nara- and -Hiroshima- . Tokyo is an amazing city. Not only is it the largest in the world, it's the most expensive. But you can eat any place, and the food is great. We love the small noddle shops. Shopping, oh boy!! My wife loves doing lots of that in the Ginza. Kyoto is the oldest of Japanese cities, and well worth seeing. They have over 1,500 temples and shrines. It's like going back in time. My wife and I love to walk the old streets, being able to feel the past with every step. Kyoto also has some of the most amazing Japanese and Zen gardens of the world. Here's an amazing example of a Japanese -Zen Garden- Hiroshima is a lovely city even with its very sad past. The city is so clean as are all cities in Japan. My wife told me that the locals always feel a sadness witbin the city, no matter how long they have lived there.
We also enjoy -Hong Kong- , which we have seen three times. You must take the Star Ferry at night across Hong Kong Harbor. Looking at the lights of the city will remain in your mind for a lifetime. But most of all, my wife loves the shopping! Shopping tip for Hong Kong. Be the first customer in any Chinese jewelry store early in the morning. Find the jewel of your eye, then act not interested due to price. They won't let you go without cutting the price big time. They believe if the first customer leaves, it will be a bad business day.
-Ireland- . It's a ghost hunters dream. One can investigate castles and manors built over 800 years ago. Please look at my photo taken at Bunratty Castle in the Photos Section. I make my living selling antiques and rare books from Japan. I've also begun to sell designer clothes and handbags, such as Prada, Versace, Gucci and Fendi. I buy overstock inventory from Japanese merchants who purchase for major department stores in Tokyo. I also begun to venture into real estate investment and development.
My wife and I love Akita's! We are close to buying one. They are smart, strong and brave. They are looked upon as good luck in Japan. So, always love your Akita!
REAL ESTATE DEVOLOPMENT AMISTAD TOWER
I've created The Amistad Tower concept for New Haven, CT. There's a large peice of land which will soon be opened within the city. They want to build a hotel & conferance center there, which I think is an awful idea. With a shortage of housing in New Haven, there's no need for another hotel & meeting space within the city.
The location sits next to restaurants, clubs, threaters, museums, Yale, the arts, train station, 91.N & 95.S and only 90 mins from Manhattan. Amistad Tower will be 25 floors of luxurious condos, having stunning panoramic city and water views. The exterior of the building will be a sheet of lite blue glass, representing the sea which Amistad won his freedom. The lobby will have a massive mural depicting the history of Amistad, surrounded by Italian marble walls and floors. The tower will be dedicated to Amistad for igniting the slavery rebellion in New England. Here's my image of Amistad Tower
