Hi!My name is Nelis. I am a Post-doc at Eindhoven Technical University .
My PhD assignment was to develope the control algorithm of a multi-degree-of-freedom magnetically levitated planar actuator.
Due to my study I was forced to quit playing in bands this year. I used to play keyboard in a Progressive rock/metal band called In-Tension :
Check out the myspace bandpage . And I also played keyboard and sang in a Fear Factory coverband named: Beer Factory .
My musical interests range from classical music to metal and almost everything in between. I've played in several other bands: Excision, GuessStation, Images and Dreams (a Dream Theater coverband), a Rammstein coverband. I have always liked to combine art and science in my life since those fields of interest are not necessarily contradicting each other. This seems to be unusual since I was the only student who followed art courses in combination with mathematics, physics, etc. Please take a look at the work of John van Lierop (my father) if you are interested in art.
I have a classical piano background. About 10 years of private lessons helped me to play the music I enjoy (thanks to my teacher Marjan Hermens).
I am using the following equipment:
Real accoustic piano
Classic Korg Triton workstation 61 keys
Roland RD150 stage piano
Behringer Midi Foot Controller FCB 1010
2x Roland DP-6 Damper pedals
K&M König & Meyer Spider Pro keyboard stand
Samson PowerBrite Pro9
Behringer Ultrawave B300
Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ1502
Behringer Autocom Pro-XL MDX1600
2x Behringer Ultralink Pro MX882
Greetings,
Nelis
