About Me

I don’t know if this would be considered an oxy-moron, but I’m a straightforward, open minded girl who values genuine people and can appreciate a good adventure.
I’m attracted to people who have a combination for sense and nonsense. I love to laugh, and even better, I love to make people laugh. I love sarcasm and I like people who don’t take themselves too seriously.
I tease to forge a connection, It should tell you that I care…I’ve been paying attention. How else would I know which buttons to push?
Perhaps more than anything, I want your reaction…for you to tease me back. How else will I know that you’ve been paying attention?
Curious by nature and blessed with the gift of gab allows for little dullness and lack of company in my life. However, it’s the quality of the company I keep that makes my life so rich.
The journalist in me is always seeking the Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How?
I have a desire to know about everything.
In spite of this, I’m also a huge fan of fantasy.
I have a wild imagination and have been known to exaggerate.
In my defense, I feel storytelling is a lost art, and just do what I can to preserve it = )
I like big sunglasses, roller-skates, the Lakers, cereal, inside jokes, cartoons, text messaging, having a secret crush and red wine.
I like to get swept away.
I like a challenge…
yet can also appreciate the simplicity of when things just fall in place.
Happiness for me is dancing. Whether it’s in a dance studio, or on a dance floor, it satisfies my need to forget.
Oddly enough, in fulfilling my unconscious, I’m left awake…Mindful.
Details just lose their weight.
Regardless if it’s choreographed or natural, dancing and music have always been my grace.
I love the quote
“Those that can’t hear the music think the dancer mad.” Anonymous
And maybe the dancer is. Or maybe the dancer is only rash at that moment. The driving force behind that need to move is what I love. I think that’s the beauty of music, passion, interpretation and expression and I don’t expect people to always get (or hear) it.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Jim Morrison.
My first introduction to Morrison, was not through his band The Doors, or familiar radio songs, but through his poetry. I would love to meet the poet behind "American Prayer" and just spend the day with the same person who wrote,

STONED IMMACULATE
"I'll tell you this... No eternal reward will forgive us now For wasting the dawn."

"Let me tell you about heartache and the loss of god Wandering, wandering in hopless night Out here in the perimeter there are no stars Out here we is stoned Immaculate."

Jim Morrisson

Heroes:

My Grandparetns are two of the most beautiful, selfless, loyal, proud, gracious, hard-working and non-judgemental couple I think I will ever know.

I think of them as this world's last Romeo and Juliet. They have been a model for what I believe a relationship and partnership should be like.

Although I don't believe in the institute of marriage for myself, my grandparents marriage of 53 years consistently gives me a renewed hope in the idea of love, the practice of loyalty and the fairy tale notion of a soul mate.

Aside from my Grandparents, my Mom (or should I say Mommy) is the other heroine in my life. She is also my confident, best friend, pain in my ass, go-to person, sister, therapist and guardian angel. It's too scary to think of a life w/o my Mom. She's the person that believes in me more than ME at times.

What its Like

I heard this song last night and it was like re-discovering an old high school friend. It wasn't the first time I had heard "What it's Like," by Everlast, but I had forgot about this song and listenin...

Guilty by Association

I figured since I would be publicly incriminating myself by joining this craze, I felt the headline "Guilty by Association," was appropriate. My accomplices (AKA- my partners in crime) are fun-loving...

I'd like to Meet

I would love to meet and spend the day with Jim Morrison. Those who know little about the film maker, writer, poet, artist, front man and legend, would probably ask me some ignorant question reg...
