Born Aaron Peek, Mafia Child has earned his spot in the underground rap scene. Making his first appearence in 2002, as the newest and youngest member of Darkside Mafia. Mafia Child was featured on their debut album "Satanic Verses" which released mid 2002. Mafia Child continued to work with Darkside Mafia delivering raw and mind twisting lyrics, some would say. It wasnt until 2006, Mafia Child left the group, shortly after the release of "The Darkside", due to a falling out with the group. Mafia Child set forth a solo career in the music industry which lead to the birth of Mafia Muzik Inc. a label owned and ran by himself - he has worked with handful of artist such as Tearz, Young Thug, Haze (Freddrock, Maryland) and Hollywood (Oakland, Californa). Mafia Child put out mixtape in 2007 entitled "Mafia Muzik Inc. Vol. 1" to let everybody know he was back in the lab working on new material. Later in 2007 Mafia Child met up with Jayce Miguel CEO and artist of N' Depth Recordings (based in Cincinnati, OH) and was offered the opportunity to be apart of the label. Mafia Child accepted Jayce Miguel's offer and since has been releasing single after single, including his lastest project Long Overdue with plans of releasing a new album late Summer / early Fall 2009.
On July 19, 2008 Mafia Child released his debut album “Long Overdue†under his new label N’ Depth Recordings. The album was first going called Forever Underground but Mafia Child wanted to change his image and sound on this project. So the album was pushed back. Releasing single after single Mafia Child kept listeners anxious to hear the final completed project. Mafia Child gave listeners a taste of whats to come with his first hit single “The Real†featuring lablemates Jayce Miguel and Pryority, a track claiming that they are some of the realist artist out right now. He continued to follow up with more hits such as “Money Over Everythingâ€, “Let ‘Em Hate†and his fourth single “Fuck Tonight†- a hardcore yet seductive track braggin on just how good his sex is. Fuck Tonight quickly caught the attention of many listeners and gave Mafia Child a buzz on the underground scene. Overall, Long Overdue shows just how versitle Mafia Child is. You can still catch Mafia Child going back to his old style on tracks such as “Crushin‘ Domes†and "The Darkside"… using occult chants on top of a dark beats produced by Firewood Productions. But overall his album is a must have for true underground rap fans.
Mafia Child announced in September 2008 that he will be returning to the studio to work on his second solo album, Forever Underground. Teaming up 2:22 Music Inc. Mafia Child released his first single "Run Away (featuring Tu Tone and Tay Da Don)" and followed with another single "Still Gangsta" showing more of his hardcore southern style. "Im bringing back the underground sound on this project, so this will definetly be something for all my underground rap listeners, everybody been telling me to bring back the style I used to have when I first came in the rap game and Im going do that" - Mafia Child states. Mafia Child has something special instored for his fans with this project. Backed with production by Tu Tone, Forever Underground will his best album to date. Mafia Child has a number of placements coming this summer and fall, stay tuned and keep your ears to the streets...
