About Me

I certainly lay claim to a lot of diversity. Sometimes this seems paradoxical at worst, dualistic (or more) at best but I cannot fathom surrendering myself to routine or settling for “good enough.” I’m an idealist at heart, though often a cynical one. I’m a massage therapist, vegetarian who works construction and drives a jeep pick up. I love God so much that it hurts. I’m analytical, cautious and pensive but I’ll throw myself off a waterfall in the blink of an eye. I’m gregarious to a fault but start to become unhinged without sufficient alone time. I’m almost always happy. I’m a minimalist (mostly because handling responsibility is still a challenge) but I’ll drop everything for a good adventure. We can always know the fears we carry in our hearts by the limits we place on our lives. I’m striving to give up my limits. I’d probably be a whole lot more interesting if I was crazy… oh well… maybe some other day.My Goals: Simplicity of life, tenacity of spirit, discipline of mind and openness of heart. My Interests

I cherish my books over any other possession. Good conversations over good coffee. The peacefulness of floating on a surf board, watching the sun come up. Stretching. The act of healing. Praying. Drinking wine on a beach in the dark beneath star-speckled skies. People who are genuinely open. Rock climbing. Staying up all night when I don’t have to. Struggling artists. Taoism. Parables. Picking fresh guava in the jungle. Waking up from my daily grind to realize that life is beautiful. Doing things that are unexpected. Pushing people out of their comfort zone. Kissing. Art that makes my soul ache. Massage. Seeing culture, language, knowledge, age, gender, religion and time pushed aside by love to make a connection. Making a persons day better. Lounging in underwear. The feeling of discontent that lets me know I’m not there yet. Being homeless, if only for a night or two. Fresh vegetables. Scuba diving. Traveling. Creativity. Skiing. Wine tasting. Philosophical meanderings. Walking late at night. Eye contact with strangers. And lentil soup.Oh yeah… I’ll probably be a famous writer someday so stay tuned. (Hey we all have goals…)
