About Me

Stephen Purbeck Howarth was born in Lewisham, London in 1981 and grew up in mostly in Maidstone, Kent. Diagnosed with severe dyslexia at the age of nine, he attended specialist schools in Brighton, Glastonbury and Letchworth garden city.At the turn of the millenium he returned to his native south east London to study painting at Camberwell collage of arts, but was expelled after becoming closely affiliated with the controversial "Stuckist" art movement.Since then he has worked horrifyingly tedious jobs by day, but by night he focuses on his principle passion, poetry. Having performed at over a hundred venues in the UK and US he is a former winner of the "Bard of Brixton" slam title and the 2004 Uk poetry idol competition, has had work published in various magazines, and has been poet in residence at the notoriously decadent Hellfire club, both in London and Edinburgh. He has also toured the nation performing outdoor and indoor theatre, and wrote and starred in the short film "An Angery Young Man."S.P. Howarth still lives in south London and will continue to do so untill he can't take it anymore!I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
