Never been good at describing myself. At the moment, I probably defy description as I'm not entirely sure where my personal life is going. But since no one really knows where they are going, these descriptions are really about where we have been. So, I was born in D.C., grew up mostly in Southern California by way of Virginia and Oregon, attended college in San Diego, law school in Miami (Florida), lived in Tallahassee for over a decade with a year in Daytona Beach wedged in there at the beginning (and, yes, folks, I was in Tallahassee during the election 2000 debacle), had an entire marriage during my time in Tallahassee which included the raising of two stepchildren and giving birth to my own daughter, and then moved to East Tennessee to start a new life after making the decision that the marriage was over. Meanwhile, in the midst of all that, I managed to build a career as a fairly well-respected lawyer in Florida and am currently working on doing the same in Tennessee (becoming a well-respected lawyer here, that is). I guess the lesson of my life story thus far is that you never know what the fuck life will throw at you. The trick is to just make sure that all plans are fluid, and be prepared for anything. Am trying to live in a Zen-like state now...completely in the moment of my existence every day. In my late '30's, I have come to the realization that life is what happens when you least expect it. It is not the stuff you plan that is memorable; it is the stuff that occurs despite the planning that always stays with you. ..
