About Me

My life revolves around my work, my family, my friends, and photography, but not necessarily in that order, but all of which/whom I love dearly. I have a cat, Cabananna, that is like my badly behaved child, and a lizard, Herbina, that Cabana would like to eat. I graduated from UTSA with my degree in Fine Art Photography, and still continue to study at Southwest Craft Center in downtown San Antonio. I am tall, quiet on the outside but laughing on the inside, and sure-footed: I know exactly what I want out of life, and I'm not going to let anyone or anything hold me back. I believe that everything in life has purpose and reason, and that all of Gods creatures and the home He has created for us on Earth deserves loving respect. While I dearly love the friends that have stuck by my side for eleven years (you know who you are. :), I am more than willing to add many new ones, as long as they are a positive influence on my life.

My Interests

Sitting with my back to the sun, waking up with my cat asleep on my chest, the click of an SLRs shutter (over and over and over again), going through old photographs and remembering the exact moment they were taken, the smell of the cool air before a thunderstorm, the sound of the raindrops refreshing everything, and the gradually diminishing beat, with occasional rumbles through the sky, followed by silence (what a shame that it doesn't rain more often in this dry city!), making funny sounds to entertain myself, creating art while preserving memories, napping outside in the middle of the afternoon, sitting here and thinking of all of the things that make me happy and feel good....Not to mention photography, all living things, funny movies, my family, music, piano, Adam Sandlar, The Simpsons, did I mention photography? , sitting around and talking with friends, asian food, collecting cameras, the outdoors, cats, dogs, lizards and fish.

I'd like to meet:

Someone fun to hang out with and who can carry on a half-way decent, intelligent and interesting conversation. Male or female, with similar interests. :)

Music:

A lil bit of everything: However, my favorites include Dave Matthew's Band, Martin Sexton, Randy Rogers, Jack Johnson, John Pryne, Cake, Collective Soul, Allison Krauss, most, but not all of The Beatles, some old stuff like Simon and Garfunkle, Willie Nelson, John Denver, all the stuff I grew up with and that makes me happy to hear. :)

Movies:

The Wedding Singer, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Happy Gilmore, Super Troopers, Minority Report, The Truman Show, Office Space, Punch Drunk Love, Bruce Almighty, etc. :) For me to like a movie, it MUST BE FUNNY. Please don't drag me to a horror movie...*sniffle*

Television:

The Simpsons, That 70s Show, King of the Hill. I try not to watch much more than that. Oh--except the news when I'm getting ready for work in the morning (as long as it's happy news...none of this poo-poo "everyone is getting shot" news)

Books:

Brave New World and 1984.

Heroes:

My lovely sister Mireille, my beautiful and elegant mother, and my strong hearted sister Letitia.
