Garry Charles Johnson a.k.a. Garry Charles Champion was born March 02, 1985 and the rest will go down in history. Champ, as we all know him, grew up in New Hope and faced many tough obstacle he started putting his heart into writing songs. With the help of two childhood friends they formed Lucky 7 Records, Caos, Weldon, and James. Altough they never got the chance to grow the foundation had been set for the future. Upon graduating high school all 3 went on there seperate hustle but tried to stay in touch. Shortly after graduating, Champ, finally got the chance to spend time with the father he never really knew. Thus adopting the name Champion out of love and respect for his father. Through the years he kept on writing and freestyling for anyone who would listen to him. Though many have stepped on him and told him couldn't rhyme he continued to crush all opponents. If you would like to describe his style, as hard as it is, you would have to say he has a bit of Kayne West lyrics with the southeren swagger of a Lil Wayne. Finally after struggling for so long a break came through and he got the chance to showcase his skills at the Kitchen Studios in Dallas. As he begin to record varouis people would be walking by and would stop to listen to this unkown artist. Although the quality of the other artist on the song wasn't as polished he still got spins on the radio and clubs. Still he never got the chance to be heard by the right people, to really give his name a push into the light. Now you can find Champ writing numerous songs and making his own top notch beats in the country of New Hope. The fire still burns inside him patiently waiting for the one chance he needs to prove everyone wrong. I just hope the public is ready to be amazed as a new type of artist takes over the game slowly but surely.
