Add to My Profile ____________________________________________________________ _ ____________________________________________________________ _En la decada de los 90..s existía una banda llamada Arbol caido, a la cual entra Camilo Rodríguez como vocalista y guitarrista. Cuando Marcela la bajista decidió abandonar el grupo entra a tocar con ellos (solo por probar) el hermano de Camilo, Victor Rodríguez permaneciendo la formación así por un tiempo junto con Miguel Cely (miembro original de la banda) y Javier Garzón, ahora mas conocido como "El Chino". Pero tiempo después la banda se separa y a finales de los 90..s los hermanos Rodríguez deciden seguir con algún proyecto musical. Así es que hablan con Francisco Piñeros, amigo y baterista de Thanatos, una banda hermana de Arbol Caido (y también separada en ese momento), y así deciden crear un grupo desde cero y lo llaman MANTARRAYA.Como muchas otras bandas empiezan sacando algunos covers de bandas como Stone Temple Pilots, Radiohead, Pixies, entre otras, bandas que les darían toda la influencia musical para empezar a componer sus propias canciones.Por muchos años se mantienen así, tocando en diversos bares y universidades, alternando entre sus canciones y los covers, pero con la presión constante de quienes los oyen sobre dejar los covers y dedicar 100% el tiempo a componer.A finales del 2005 y tras unos huecos de reposo, la banda vuelve a coger empuje y deciden vincular una segunda guitarra, convocando a otro amigo de ellos, Nicolas Gomez, quien le da mayor fuerza al sonido y da campo a mas arreglos en las canciones. Pero Nicolas acompaña a mantarraya con su energía solo hasta mediados del 2007 y de esta manera vuelve a quedar la alineación original.Con toda la energía puesta sigue Mantarraya en estos momentos, dejando ya los covers en un feliz pasado, manteniendo su intensa carga en vivo y componiendo y preparando canciones para sacar su primera grabación. ___________________________________________________________B ack in the 90..s there was a band called Arbol caido, and Camilo Rodríguez took the vocals and guitar. When Marcela, the bassgirl decided to leave the band, Victor Rodriguez, brother of camilo, got it..s chords. That formation remains a while with Miguel Cely and Javier Garzón, best known actually as "El Chino". But with time the band came to an end and in the late 90..s the Rodriguez brothers decide to go on with a new musical project. That..s when they talk with Francisco Piñeros, old friend and drummer of Thanatos, a pal band of Arbol Caido and also separated at the moment, and they create a band from zero and they named it MANTARRAYA.Like many others, MANTARRAYA starts with covers from alternative bands like Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Pixies,..., bands that will give them all the influence to start making their own songs.For many years they remain like this, playing in many bars, pubs colleges and universities, between covers and own songs, but with the constant pression of their fans to leave the covers and get the 100% of time to compose.Finishing 2005 and with a few breaks, MANTARRAYA comes back with energy and decide to get a second guitar, Nicolas Gomez, adding force and alowing some adjustments in their songs. But Nicolas stays with mantarraya only ..till middle of 2007 and so, the original line comes back again.With all this energy MANTARRAYA goes on at the moment, leaving the covers behind in a happy past, maintaining their intense load live, and prepairing the new songs for their first record. ____________________________________________________________ _ ____________________________________________________________ _
