Nathan Wheldon is a singer/songwriter based in the 'medium' sized town of Launceston in Tasmania. He has been an active member of the Tasmanian music scene for over 6 years, debuting on stage at the tender age of 15.His music is best described as pop driven acoustic/roots with a touch of blues thrown in for good measure. Nathan's music draws an audience in to an intimate, immersive experience, with his melting pot of 'real-life' lyrics and simple but layered acoustic rhythms and soulful keyboard.Achievements so far…2004 saw Nathan being awarded Best Performer in the state competition, The Tas Music Rock Challenge, as well as the band winning the competition outright.2006 saw Nathan release his debut EP, "Like the Beatles say…" recorded at Red Planet Studios in Hobart. The band was nominated “Best Upcoming Artist†in the Arts Tasmania ‘Amplified’ Awards and also reached the state final of the Uni Band Competition.2007 was the busiest year for the band to date. 2007 saw the Two Timers play over 50 shows around the country!! Including two trips to Sydney. June 07’ saw the song “Congratulations†feature on Triple J's 'JTV', this giving the band there first taste of national exposure. The same year, indie label Foghorn Records asked the band to feature one of their tracks to be included on a national compilation CD, 'Home Grown Roots Vol.2'. Artists included Mia Dyson, Leroy Lee and Tyroon Noonan (George). Sept 07’ the band won the Northern Tasmanian heat of the National Uni Band Campus Competition and to cap off a stellar year Nathan Wheldon & The Two Timers were selected to play at the Falls Festival, this firmly stating that 2007 was a rising year for the band.May 2008 saw the release of the bands first full length album 'A New Years' Revolution'. Playing to a packed theatre in their local town, it was a great evening with the band selling over 300 copies! In October, The Two Timers were selected to play at Falls festival for a second year running and again were asked to appear on two national compilation CD’s, 'Home Grown Roots Vol.3' and ‘Sounds like café..’ 2008 has been a great year for the band as far as getting exposure goes. The band scoring a stack of airplay on radio stations across the state, including 7LA, LAFM (Launceston) and Edge Radio (Hobart).NOW AVAILABLE BY MAIL ORDER:
