About Me

Clinton Young Bio (Dallas Texas)In a world full of MCs and not enough mics, Clinton Young has appeared from the land of underground Hip-Hop music with one goal in mind. To establish himself as a well respected recording artist in Dallas, TX. In the past, most of Hip-Hops most talented artist originated in New York, California and other major cities in the U.S. but never Dallas. The city of Dallas has a tremendous market for Hip-Hop music just waiting to explode. Clinton Young is determined to dive in headfirst and bring much needed exposure to the Dallas underground Hip-Hop scene. Born in 1973 originally from Akron Ohio, Clinton Moon Criket Young migrated to Texas at age five and considers Dallas his home. At age twelve, he noticed he had a true passion for music of all types, but Hip-Hop music is what he focused on throughout his teenage years. In 1988, some of the artist that influenced Mr. Young to begin his recording career are Jaz-O, Kid & Play, MC Lyte, Notorious B.I.G., Mobb Deep, Nas, Big Daddy Kane and Master Ace. From beating on the lunch tables in the school cafeteria, to street corner MC battles, to complete professionalism in the music business, Moon Criket has definitely done his share of hard work.Clinton Young has released his new debut album entitled BLACK MATTER during the fall season of 2005. The album truly expresses Mr. Youngs ability to be versatile, using numerous styles of rap and a diverse array of music. The album is expected to sell in high numbers. Clinton Young gained a substantial amount of his experience in making quality Hip-Hop music back in 1993 when he had the opportunity to do live performances with major artist like Jay-Z, Da Brat, Pharcyde and the WU-TANG CLAN just to name a few. Not to mention the hundreds of shows hes done in Dallas at local clubs such as The Home Bar, Liquid lounge, The Venue, The Bomb Factory, The Milk Bar, Club Exodus, The Rehab, The Gypsy Tea Room, Caribbean Grill (all Dallas Venues) and plenty more. Clinton Young has inspired hundreds of Hip-Hop music listeners to be dedicated followers of his music with hits like Hey and The Hood from the album BLACK MATTER. One specific characteristic that sets Moon Criket aside from other rap artists is his ability to take different styles of rap and bring it all together on one album. Dear God and Test The Water (from the album BLACK MATTER) are good examples of this accomplishment. While Conversations is more of a song for the easy listener, Sit It Down is a song aimed towards the raw feel of Hip-Hop at its finest. Two completely different styles of music, but both recorded with the same precision and discipline thus proving he has more than what it takes to play a major role in the rap music industry. Songs like Listen Up and I Cant Call It are also good examples of Clintons versatility. These two songs have more of a southern or west coast feel to them showing that Clinton Young is flexible enough to incorporate east coast, west coast and southern flavors all in one project to appeal to a variety of Hip-Hop listeners. Along with Clinton Young, ILL C (producer) and MC2 (producer) are also members of the Alter-Natives organization. They provided Clinton Young with superb beats and the hottest hip hop sound to compete with the major artist that are already established in the industry. With the release of the album BLACK MATTER and plenty of record sales on the way,Clinton "Moon Criket" Young has decided to connect with long time friend and associate Tim "ILL C" Brown (Producer) and newest member of the team that takes his tracks to a higher level Evan "MC2" Mclellan (Producer) to form an organization called Alter-Natives Entertainment, an independent record label in Dallas, TX. With help from his loyal companions, Clinton Young plans to establish a powerhouse label, distributing nothing but quality music with BLACK MATTER leading the way. Up and coming vocalist such as Sence will shortly follow Moon Criket in the entourage of musically talented individuals under the same indie umbrella. The main objective is simple yet complicated. Clinton Young has succeeded in making his dreams a reality and now focuses on expanding his works to the vast public. He plans to use Alter-Natives Entertainment as a stepping stone to a achieve a number of accomplishments in the future such as releasing his own album BLACK MATTER along with R&B music, alternative music and other forms of music for your listening pleasure. New Yorks got their Jay-Z, Californias got their Snoop Dogg, and now Dallas has Mr. Clinton Young.Thank you for your time.
