About Me

I'm 37, married 20 years and four daughters. I am a stay at home mom and enjoy spending time with my family and friends, meeting people online, bowling once a week with my buds, and being creative. I love animals and enjoy my pets - hound mix dog, kitten, 2 parakeets and my daughters' hamster. I created this page because I have a deep respect for those who fight for our country. They face things on a daily basis that I can not and would not want to imagine. I never pass up an opportunity to thank a service person when I pass one in uniform in the grocery, on the street or where ever I am. They are always surprised and seem grateful to hear that their work is appreciated. To all the service men and women, their families, spouses and children, I just wanted to express my thanks through this page.

WHAT IS A VETERAN?
Some veterans bear visible signs of their service: a missing limb, a jagged scar, a certain look in the eye. Others may carry the evidence inside them: a pin holding a bone together, a piece of shrapnel in the leg - or perhaps another sort of inner steel: the soul's ally forged in the refinery of adversity.Except in parades, however, the men and women who have kept America safe wear no badge or emblem. You can't tell a vet just by looking. What is a vet?He is the cop on the beat who spent six months in Saudi Arabia sweating two gallons a day making sure the armored personnel carriers didn't run out of fuel.He is the barroom loudmouth, dumber than five wooden planks, whose overgrown frat-boy behavior is outweighed a hundred times in the cosmic scales by four hours of exquisite bravery near the 38th parallel. She - or he - is the nurse who fought against futility and went to sleep sobbing every night for two solid years in Da Nang.He is the POW who went away one person and came back another - or didn't come back AT ALL.He is the Quantico drill instructor who has never seen combat - but has saved countless lives by turning slouchy, no-account rednecks and gang members into Marines, and teaching them to watch each other's backs. He is the parade - riding Legionnaire who pins on his ribbons and medals with a prosthetic hand.He is the career quartermaster who watches the ribbons and medals pass him by.He is the three anonymous heroes in The Tomb Of The Unknowns, whose presence at the Arlington National Cemetery must forever preserve the memory of all the anonymous heroes whose valor dies unrecognized with them on the battlefield or in the ocean's sunless deep.He is the old guy bagging groceries at the supermarket - palsied now and aggravatingly slow - who helped liberate a Nazi death camp and who wishes all day long that his wife were still alive to hold him when the nightmares come.He is an ordinary and yet an extraordinary human being - a person who offered some of his life's most vital years in the service of his country, and who sacrificed his ambitions so others would not have to sacrifice theirs. He is a soldier and a savior and a sword against the darkness, and he is nothing more than the finest, greatest testimony on behalf of the finest, the greatest nation ever known. So remember, each time you see someone who has served our country, just lean over and say Thank You. That's all most people need, and in most cases it will mean more than any medals they could have been awarded or were awarded. Two little words that mean a lot, "THANK YOU." author- Father Denis Edward O'Brien USMCThis page is dedicated to all veterans past, present and future. This Veteran's day, please don't forget the Veteran's. The Men and Women who fought so bravely and lost their lives during WW1, WW2, Korea, Viet Nam, Gulf, Afghanistan, Iraq and peacekeeping. Let us never forget our MIA's and POW's Please remember to keep all Veteran's and their families in your thoughts and daily prayers.

Just 'cause you're not on my top doesn't mean I don't luv ya!

Heroes:

My Granny is my #1 hero- She had alot to over come in life and despite her problems she remained a faithful Christian and a role-model to many. Without her helping hand I don't know what I would have done. I miss her so much.
-----
My Mommy- She is a great woman! She raised 4 great kids (of course I turned out the best! LOL)She did much of it on her own and even through the worst of times when there was very little we never knew it. Thanks for being my mommy!
-----
My kids- They have kept me going when nothing else could! They can definately make me cry buckets sometimes but that is nothing compared to the smiles they bring.
-----
My brother- He is a real blessing to the world with his laughter and humor. He is definately one of a kind. He is special for a lot of reasons and I love him tons, not to mention that wonderful pair of sun glasses I stole out of his car a few months ago!
-----
Hubby- He's my here because anyone who can put up with the health problems I have had for the past 20+ years is truly a hero.
-----
Our Men and Women in the Armed Forces
They bravely serve our country and their Commander and Chief. They vountarily do a job which often requires them to leave behind family, friends, children and country to go to foriegn lands and face danger and death on a daily basis. They are my hero's because I can't imagine the hell they go through or having the balls to go through it myself. Their families are also in that catagory since they must be their support at home and must be the ones who spen the sleepless nights with worry while keeping the positive words through letters and phone conversations. God Bless you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart. To all past and present service men and women who serve us with honor and bravery. You truly are extraordinary hero's.
I am a very proud homeschooling mom. I have homeschholed my oldest daughter from 4th grade through high school graduation at the age of 16. She went on to pass the GED test, complete course requirments at Job Corps to certified as a painter all by 18. I have been homeschooling my two middle girls since grade 3 and they are now in 11th and my youngest began homeschooling voluntarily with her sisters as soon as she could hold a pencil and is now in the 7th grade. As our schools get worse (IMHO it wouldn't hurt if so many of our teacher's didn't feel so helpless to do anything with students and were paid better to deal with them! But that's just my opinion...we all got one.) more people are turning to private and home school as an alternative but it never fails that on a regular basis I get ignorant people not only being nosey but down right rude. I don't mind questions when they are relevent and appropriate otherwise... I love to give tacky answers to questions people ask, if they are questions that are none of their business. Here are my tops ten answers to Why are you homeschooling your kids?
10. So I won't miss my soaps and can eat bon-bon's all day.
9. I just LOVE being with kids 24/7 that fight all the time
8. They can learn to load a gun, build a bomb, cuss like a sailor, and dress like a hooker at home too. (For those that don't know me.. this isn't true - For those that know me....you are wondering?)
7. I would much rather decorate that room with piles of books, etc. rather than nice furniture. I like to call it "early american chaos".
6. Because Disneyworld is open in the middle of January.
5. I can spank them daily... whether they need it or not. (IF this offends you, please call your local agency and request a sense of humor immediately)
4. It's SO EASY! We get up at 10:00 and we are done by noon! (Truth is that without lining up for eveything, waiting for 20 other kids to 'settle', bells to ring, little Sally to find her math homework, etc., we do get done earlier than the noemal school day.)
3. It's SO CHEAP! We don't use books or any supplies. We just get a few videos from the library and eat all day! I heard this from a future mom of fat, lazy, jobless children.LOL
2. Because I want my children to be "social idiots". (I give this answer to people that have rude and disrespectful kids. They never invite my kids to play, okay by me.
1. The most important reason is that I love my kids dearly and want the best for them. I want to build in them a strong foundation before the world starts chipping away at it. But instead, I just say "How much money do you may annually?" They usually get the hint.
