Alex Peña

Hey, welcome to my, Alex Peña's MySpace! I'm a guitarist/composer actively performing in the New Orleans music scene in various contexts. In addition to leading my own wacky original jazz-ish group, the Alex Peña Eclectic Band...with current monthly residency at the Dragon's Den, I can be heard playing blues/soul in neighborhood clubs like Young@Heart's Lounge with Keith Lewis' Blues Revue, serenading diners in restaurant's like Byblos on Magazine and Daniel's on the Bayou in solo or duo guitar settings, and a plethora of various other improvised musics ranging from the traditional to the modern, straight-ahead to the avant-garde, and funky all along the way. In addition to performing regularly, I am nearing the completion of my B.A. studies in the prestigious jazz department at the University of New Orleans.Performance venues: N.O.
