DJ ADN

About Me

.. Get Your Own Player!
In 1987 and thanks to his father, DJ and record collector, DJ ADN came to discover classical masterpieces released by mythical labels such as Prelude, Tamla Motown, Salsoul, Atlantic or West End. From soul to disco, funk and new wave, both will get to know and share the roots and legacy of electronic music. Classics such as James Brown, The Temptations, Marlena Shaw or The Crusaders will be played 24 hours a day.
In 1990, DJ ADN buys his first desks and gets familiar with mixing techniques and the idea of melting different styles together. By listening and sorting out his records on a daily basis, his style will smoothly sharpen as he explores through the years new beat, breakbeat, Detroit techno and eventually house, which he has been faithful to for over ten years. Through the influence of music pioneers such as Larry Heard, Frankie Knuckles, François Kevorkian, Lil’Louis or Marshall Jefferson, he would get to the perfect balance between the black music of his childhood and the electronic modern sounds of their works. Clearly, listening to his first deep house productions, one can’t help but noticing the obvious “soul” spirit of his musical creations.
What DJ ADN is aiming to achieve, through his deep, jazz, broken, funky or techno sets, are the groovy and dancing elements of the music. He adapts without trouble to any type of audience, while keeping a feeling, a groove and an awesome dancefloor orientation.
From 1998 to 2004, he managed his own record shop in Avignon (Movin’ Records), specialized in all kinds of electronic music.
DJ ADN has already played in the main french & european clubs like Café d’Anvers in Belgium, Café de Paris in London, Cross in London, Nouveau Casino in Paris, Queen in Paris, Café du Trésor in Paris, Macarena in Barcelona, Nikki Beach in Saint-Tropez, Villa Rouge and Bar Live in Montpellier, Zoobizarre in Bordeaux, Bikini in Toulouse, Bazar in Marseille, Le Privé in Avignon, etc… and in the most prestigious festivals like Les Plagess, Gravity Festival, Techno Parade, Pelouses Electroniques, I Have A Dream and more alongside people like ‘Little’ Louie Vega, DJ Pierre, Laurent Garnier, Gilles Peterson, Mr Scruff, DIY, Mike Grant, David Guetta, Carl Craig, Terry Françis, Martin Solveig, David Walters, Derrick May or Green Velvet to name but a few. Such a versatility made him an obvious choice as journalist indamixworldwide.com and nothingbutthegroove.com.
In 2004, he founds with his friends and dj’s Theaz and Antol the Nothing But The Groove collective and starts a new residency at Opera Café in Avignon, called What’s Going On?. The concept: a complete and eclectic tribute to old and new black music scene.
