Not sure you've heard yet....but the Sound of Sirens will literally blow your face off your head. With a refreshing cornucopia of sound that brings together the texture of the acoustic six-string, the power of electric guitar, the grace of the piano; the Sound of Sirens acheives a concept so dynamic yet familiar, you'll wonder what the f just hit your tympanic membrane.
Jordan Walter and Ryan Downs met in Washington DC after playing with previous bands in New York and Alexandria. Their influences seemed to complement each other quite well, so they decided to make an ordeal out of it. As neither Jordan or Ryan had any interest in keeping things obvious, they wanted to form a band that displayed a level of complexitiy in its writing that trancsended conventional rock. The goal in forming the band was to pool together different influences and backgrounds, evidenced by the addition of a classically trained pianist on the keys in Phil Smith, a heavy metal rocker on bass in Dave Crook, and dynamic clean rock drummer in Eddie Healy, Jr.
The Sound of Sirens provides pop sensibility, radio-friendly melodies, and intelligent lyrics against a variety of musical backdrops. Songs range from in-your-face powerpop and ethereal anthems, to introspective ballads, using a variety of sounds and techniques to provide the listener sonic diversity.
