Rockfest is the Youth Board's annual mega seven band rock concert that draws over 400 teens from Staten Island and beyond. On a Saturday night in April, the JCC's gym becomes a rock concert hall that rocks with music ranging from grunge and rock to ska and hardcore. The music is supplied by Staten Island bands made up of local high school and college students. The Youth Board is responsible for all operational aspects of the program including band recruitment, publicity, security and stage set-up. This immensely popular event raises thousands of dollars for the Youth Department and other worthy causes.
