Ex-American Idol Marlon Yoeal Dean, aka Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 25, 1977, he relocated to Winston-Salem, N.C. at the age of (7). That is when his artistic talent for music and dance really began to gain exposure. Dean, who is n natural entertainer, was inspired by the movements of pop star Michael Jackson whom he began to impersonate. His Jackson performances and vocals became his trademark which ultimately led to him being featured in local newspaper and being invited to appear on a segment of the Good Morning America show. The exposure from his appearance of the Good Morning American Show led to his acceptance into the North Carolina School of the Art. However, he chose to leave the school after two days because he did not want to wear tights. This did not stop his involvement in music. Instead, he went on to compete in a Virginia Talent Search where he had the opportunity to meet LL Cool J Dean is a singer, songwriter, and entertainer who have demonstrated a true love for music since the age of (6). His versatility enables him to sing an arrangement of music styles which include contemporary R&B, urban, soul, hip-hop soul, club and dance. His style is influenced by the likes of Michael Jackson, Brian McKnight, Usher, R. Kelly, Jaheim, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. His tones can be classified as sexy romantic, confident, stylish, energetic, spontaneous and carefree. One distinct element about Dean is that if given an opportunity to sing and perform, he can do it instantaneously. He can hear a beat in any speed and instantly begin to freestyle some lyrics. No matter where he is singing or what he sings. You can expect one thing: he is going to embrace the music and sing it with passion, demonstrating a love for the words and an appreciation of the sounds that accompany it.
