..DAVE KIRIK........................................Dave Kirik first became a resident for Bristol night "Dirty Blue" around a year ago near enough from the start. Being invited to do so after playing a number of impressive early morning sets at what can only be described as very messy after hour, house parties, he hasn’t stopped orlooked back since. Dave represents the Break-beat-techno side of Dirty Blue however tends to push out the unfamiliar, funkier more electric sound of Break-beat. His sets are energetic to say the least with him entertaining the crowd from the off, combining, cutting and chopping every track into a miss mash Break-beat frenzy. Since his debut Dave has progressed rapidly and guest played at a number of other local Bristol nights, including the cities biggest underground night Empathy at Timbuk2, breast cancer charity fund raising night Instinct, R House, TCP recordings 100th release party at the world famous Blue Mountain club and B2B sessions with another Dirty Blue resident Mr Rob Worth at Zoo DOJO Lounge. Within the last couple of months Dave has picked up yet another Bristol Residency for the after hours night Drama, and even more resently Dave has started venturing out of his home town of Bristol and has played for the massive Midlands night Ultra +, at the Custard Factory and at the Bash bar both in Birmingham. In this short period of time Dave has supported the likes of Steve Lawler, Meat Katie, Vandal, Dylan Rhymes, Jim Rivers, Stereo 8 and Kraymon to name but a few. The pinnacle of his career so far has to be playing the closing set at Empathy Ibiza in 2006. Dave’s favourite tunes of all time were first introduced to him by the Silver Bullet way back in 1989 (Bring forth the guillotine and twenty second to comply) two tunes that remain in his box to this day…..but as yet not been aired….......................... and if your wondering why this is writen in third person, my mum wrote it !
