How could it be that at this time in the world slavery still exsists. Go to Callandrespons.com and join me in doing something about it. We can make a difference.
TODAYS GREAT QUOTE:
We are oddities most certainly. Homeless oddities down here, wandering around looking for a soft place to land. I think our friendships become our homes, our beds, our food, our drink, our comfort. My friends are indeed all those things." Jan Arden from her myspace blog 12/27/07I'm sort of a peri-menopausal pied piper trying to get my friends to join me on bizarre adventures. I figure we're just getting started good. I'm sort of an odd hopeful realist with darker shades of being a cynic and curmudgeon. I'm also an oddball in a lot of ways. I've made a living my whole adult life being creative. I've had a sucessful career in photography and media... doing about 60 plus album covers and huge touring media projects seen by millions of people.Somewhere along the way I grew tired of hyping the latest band, idea or widget for a living. I decided that I would rather make less money and invest in the next generation since my generation had pretty much abandoned them. I started mentoring at risk kids and teaching music... guitar, bass, drums etc. I love it. My students range from 5 - 87 in age. Lots of them are gifted. Several of them have severe behavioral or learning disorders. I love watching them grow in their musical ability, and love getting to be a part of their lives. When it's all said and done, if I do my job right, those kids will go on to invest in other people's lives too, long after I'm sitting around in diapers at the old folks home.I've been married since 82 to the same guy. We have two big goofy Labradors, but no kids of our own.
