From the heart of Greensboro, NC this group of five brings the music scene a breed of metal that will leave you breathless. With infectious melodies, vocals that will tame the wildest of beasts, symphonic harmonies, and a stage show that will forever be remembered, Hephystus is sure to impress anyone from newcomers to hard rock, to the most seasoned of metal heads. With high hopes and expectations, Hephystus plans to follow in the footsteps of some of their greatest influences such as Dream Theater, Opeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Between the Buried and Me, Iced Earth, and Metallica.
Hephystus was forged in early 2008 when founding members Troy Surratt (Drums) and Andrew Pollard (Keys) brought Matt Halberg and Brandon Miller on board. With Brandon Miller as lead singer and Jonathan Loftis on bass, the lineup was complete. Within a few practices, Hephystus realized that they had the talent and ambition to make a mark in the ever growing metal scene.
With the buzz Hephystus created releasing their first demo, they once again returned to local legend Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, He Is Legend, The Human Abstract, Alesana, etc.) in the summer of 2008, and has recorded their self-titled full length debut. Focused more than ever, Hephystus promises fans a first album that will leave them begging for more. Set to release worldwide on iTunes late spring 2009 the band plans to follow suit with a countless number of US tours beginning this summer.
