About Me

Lacey Lee is another soulful artist from the great city of St. Louis on the muddy Mississippi. She has been playing the harp since she was only 9 years old and performing live since she was 12, doing various wedding, receptions and private performances. When she was in high school she was selected to be a part of the Missouri Fine Arts Academy. It was this experience that solidified her love for music and the art of performance. Since then Lacey has focused her life and education around music, performance and other skills that she hopes will assist her in the adventure that is to come.
Over the last 4 years at Missouri State University she has honed her skills under the instruction of Darice Augustson and accomplished more than she ever dreamed possible. In her sophomore year she won the Missouri State University Concerto Competition as well as auditioned and won the position of Principal Harpist for the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Lacey was also won the top awards for excellence in performance both her junior and senior years. Though out these years she also been honored with opportunities to perform with Grammy-nominated artist Deborah Henson-Conant, as well as with the winner of the 2008 America’s Got Talent: Neal E. Boyd. In May of 2009 she will graduate magna cum laude from Missouri State University Honor’s College with a degree in Harp Performance and a minor in Marketing. She also plans to continue her education with a Master’s of Music in the Fall of 2009.
With the skills and knowledge that she will continue to gain throughout the years Lacey hopes to keep following her dreams wherever they may lead. She has always had a passion for making an impact on the world in anyway she can, and for her it has often been through music. Due to her deep desires to travel, Lacey wants her music to expand people's perception of the harp all over the world. While the beauty of the classical harp will always ring in her soul, she also has an appreciation for more modern styles. Therefore in pursuit of new artistic risks, Lacey is starting to write some of her own melodies and lyrics and is working on her vocal technique.
And....to help pay the bills until her dreams come true...Lacey also plays for private concerts for engagements, anniversaries, and Christmas events, weddings for all faiths, cocktail parties, dinner music and pretty much any event imaginable. She regularly plays all over Missouri: from St. Louis to Kansas City, and Springfield to Sikeston, but is always looking to play more regionally.
Please feel free to contact me for gigs of any kind at [email protected] I'm always interested in performing!
Thank you so much for your continued support and remember… it was once said, “Music doesn’t change the world people do, but music changes people.”
