music myspace layoutsAs Part of a band in high school, Johnny began singing professionally at age 16 in his hometown of Blytheville, Arkansas. They played local dances and upon entering college, Johnny taught himself to play guitar and began to entertain as a solo act while representing the college doing high school concerts and playing at various functions.After graduating he spent the next few years playing the Holiday Inn circuit, as well as opening act for such artist as George Strait, Hank Jr., Marty Robbins, and many more. It was then Johnny began to start writing songs and working to develop his own style. He continued to entertain at fairs, concerts, clubs, and casinos, and while playing at a fair in Oklahoma, Johnny opened for MCA recording star Jerry Clower. Recognizing Johnny’s talents as a singer, performer, and songwriter, Jerry started requesting Johnny to be his opening act. “I learned so much about entertaining and performing for a live audience from Jerry, it was really a turning point in my career.â€At the insistence of Jerry and Jim Brown, Johnny recorded an album in Nashville in which the single “If This Is Our Last Time†received critical acclaim and radio play in several markets. The video from the single was shown on TNN’s “Videocountry†and “Country Clips†numerous times and Johnny was a guest on both shows.He has recorded a new album consisting of 10 songs, 9 written by Johnny. Jim Brown, whose song “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere†was a recent monsterous hit for Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet, produced the album and assembled some of Nashville’s very best musicians for the project.
A video was shot from the title song by Getsay Productions and The Filmworkers Club of Nashville. “I am very proud and excited about this album which gave me the chance to work with such talented people. The video tells a story and is different than any I’ve seen. I believe these songs are my best work as an artist and songwriter, and I am fortunate to be given the opportunity to share my music with other people. It’s always been my dream.â€
