I grew up in Detroit...at a time when Motown lingered in the air like freshly baked bread. Music ruled the atmosphere, the walls, the streets, and permeated every level of consciousness. The passion for it was impossible to escape. It was no wonder that, in my myriad artistic endeavors, I would eventually gravitate towards it....
I started out as one of the lead singers in a local NYC rock band, Greg Tate's MACK DIVA. Later, I met Steve Greenwell/PROJECT POLLEN and became a featured singer and songwriter on his trip-hop compilation cd, released on indie labels in the U.S. Germany, and Japan. We did a music video for Japan that I never saw:-) In the meantime, I started my own band and we performed orginal music and vamped out covers around NYC. Core band-members included: Thom Loubet, Kwame Brandt Pierce, Trevor Holder, and Don Martin, with occasional appearances by Jason DiMatteo and Miriam Sullivan. Those guys are the best. We are still together in spirit.
Later, Steve and I hooked up again, expanding on the ambient vibe we created on the PROJECT POLLEN debut CD. PROJECT POLLEN (featuring myyyyy vocals) also did the score for "Just Lovers," an award winning drama that continues to show at film festivals across the globe. The soundtrack won the award for "best score" at the New York International Film Festival in the Fall of 2002. Steve and I went on to collaborate on several more tracks, which appear on my current CD: OMO MISHA featuring Project Pollen.
As for where I'm at with music right now: Frankly my dear, I don't know. All I know us that I have a CD which - although it could have used another mix down - sounds exactly as I wanted it to at the time. Steve is an absolutely magical musician, producer, artist, engineer. The ride was amazing, but we are no longer working together. So, I guess I have one eye open for the next magical partner to inspire my ideas and take this whole musical journey to another dimension. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the CD!!!

"A substantial record, Omo Misha with Project Pollen offers such a strong statement that it is hard to imagine the group improving on this effort without taking an entirely different approach."~ review by Robert Nase/Indie-Music.Com
