UP ALL NIGHT
Weeknight outings can be lethal if there's good music and cheap drinks.

Guests have a good time creating their own dance floor at Eight Lounge. Eight Lounge – a small club on Lower Greenville – recently started a Wednesday night hip-hop party that's almost worth the next-day grogginess.
There's no cover. Drinks are $4 (not cheap, but not super-expensive either), and the music comprises Dirty South hits from the last few years. Think T.I., Crime Mob, Paul Wall.
The atmosphere is meat market-y, but energetic.
On a recent Wednesday around midnight, a wealth of men in dark shades and women in skin-baring tops bobbed their heads and moved their hips.
DJ Phil cued the steel-drum beat of Soulja Boy's "Crank That," and two 20-something women suddenly began to scoot across the floor in front of the DJ booth, copying the dance from the song's video.
Eight Lounge doesn't have a designated dance floor, which is common among upscale clubs. Eight was ahead of the curve in this regard – it opened in 2003.
Despite its age, the place still looks presentable. Booths against the wall are reserved for bottle service, and plasma screen TVs dot the walls.
The bar might be Eight's best feature: Round and open, its focal point is a glass shelf filled with liquor bottles and bathed in red lights.
Women could easily score a free cocktail from an eager man, if they're into that sort of thing. Men who like what they see are not shy about saying so.
"Where are you going?" inquired one guy, who had grabbed our hand. "Are you lost?"
Whether the free drink is worth the bad pickup line is up to you.
