Born in Birmingham in 1963 I attended schools in the West Midlands until aged 11, when I moved down to a grammar school for girls in Hertfordshire, where I grabbed meself a decent education and learnt how to talk propper (or at least rid myself of that peculiar accent)! At the age of 23 I moved down to London in search of a better life - a job and some new mates - it's the best thing I ever did and I'm still lovin' it. Currently working in the child protection area of Social Services. My main passion is music - being deprived of it would be like being deprived of oxygen: R&B/Soul (especially slowjams), Rare Groove, 80's disco, Jazz/Fusion, Reggae. When I'm not at work or taking in a music fix I'm off either with mates or alone with my Labrador, Warren, on long walks along the river or in the countryside to appreciate the bees and things and flowers and to escape London pollution! I love to be near moving water - especially the sea; It fascinates me - its smell, power and inhabitants, and it makes me think. I'm in heaven when I'm on a boat either cruising along a river or out in the middle of a rough sea on a hot sunny day - up on deck with a cocktail in my hand! I have loads'a mates and I love meeting up with them, either at my own home where I love to entertain, or in a restaurant/bar. My mates tell me I'm the best friend they could wish for - can't really comment on that one - all I can say is that my friends are the most important thing in my life - I'd be nowhere without them, and I do my very best to return their friendship, and try just as hard not to swap one bad turn for another! Love cooking, but only with one other person - too many cooks... Love red wine - full-bodied and oak aged. Also love real ale - God only knows how anyone drinks that fizzy lager - full of chemicals and gives ya a blinding headache the next morning! Hope to meet my soul mate in good time to enjoy!
