(A very Un-Detailed bio)
Starting in 1984 (wow thats long ago!) Rock Drummer Rob Hovey begins career with a 1950's throwback tribute band called "Wedsels Edsels". Touring Worldwide for 4 years performing with artist like: The Temptaions, Fats Domino, The Supreems, The Shangrilas, The Jets, Danny & the Juniors just to name a small few. Later; Robert was hired to play Drums full time for Danny and the Juniors, though the band only made 16 appearances in 1988, then shortly after Danny & The Juniors, Rob played with the Turtles for a brief period (remember "Happy Together"?). Rob has also spent 15+ years not only playing with nationally traveling original acts but also worked with or formed a variety of "cover bands": Hard Knox, Buster Cherry, Angel Blaze, The Gutter Boyz, Paris Blue, Kody Lee & Sludge to name a few. On the off weeks Rob was the leading sound engineer for Northern Lighting and Sound, perfecting his knowledge and Ear in the concert sound arenas.
While not touring with the drums, Rob was also mixing concert sound for a variety of bands on different tours: Night Ranger, Tesla, Bloodline, Waylon Jennings, Joan Jett, Alabama, Quiet Riot & Lillian Axe to name a few. During the Lillian Axe dates Rob and Steve Blaze became friends and over the years led to the joining of Rob playing drums in "Near Life Experience" (can be found on myspace).
Rob continues to perform with Near Life Experience and enjoys playing live on Bourbon St. to keep the chops and showmanship up. Rob Primarily anymore is producing and engineering world class records, he also Has a recording Studio & Management company (Talent Gone Wild Management & Studios in Mandeville, LA) Which finished recording & Producing the latest Lillian Axe record "Waters Rising 2007" signed to Metro City Records, and will be doing a record with Angel and a great record with the world famous Badfinger. Lillian Axe has just reached and agreement with Rob to Engineer their upcoming CD which should be completed by Spring 2009.
