DGAS was formed in Lincolnshire in April 2006. Although the initial idea was created in Germany in 2003, due to other commitments it never got any further than getting the name sorted and a few tracks done. Leader and Founder Maik had some ideas of where to take the band and how to progress in the search of getting it there. After moving back to England from southwest Germany in 2004 he started looking for suitable musicians to get DGAS on the way. The struggle was to find musicians in the south Lincolnshire area who are crazy enough to get the whole thing started. After a long search and numerous attempts to find suitable band members, Maik finally saw an ad in a local music store, where a drummer was looking for a new band. After contacting the drummer, Maik and Jon met and started turning ideas in to an action plan. Jon knew a couple of guys who were into the same sort of music and Maik and Jon arranged a meeting for the four of them. Scott and Jamie agreed to give it a shot and DGAS was finally in a position for the FIRST REHEARSAL. During the week after the meeting, Scott decided that he can’t join the band, as he was to much involved with another band. Maik, Jon and Jamie though, didn’t wait and got the first rehearsal done and out of the way. Musically, DGAS is heavily influenced by band like Metallica; Iced Earth; In Flames & Dream Theater, although no resemblance is made. The band has their own sound and doesn’t sound like other bands.Since beginning of 2007 Scott has finally joined the band and things are starting to kick off nicely. BIG WELCOME TO SCOTT - CHEERS MATE! New tracks are being worked on and finalized. Jamie took over the microphone as well as staying on the guitar, Maik is doing backing vocals in addition to playing bass. Studiotime is planned soon and we are hopeful to see you all at one of our gigs.
