First and foremost, let me introduce my self. My name is Eugene Montel
Lundi, but my friends call me monty, so feel free. One of my favorite
quotes is to " never judge a book by its cover". I am always judged by
my appearance, but many never take the time or lack the patience to
look beyond the surface. I have choosen to write this autobiography, to
reveal the man behind the good looks, fly suits and shiny shoes. So
ladies and gentlemen, make your self feel comfortable as you journey
through the story of my life. I hope by the last paragraph, that you
become familiar with my character, personality, passsion , drives and
ambitions. Welcome to my world, you may now turn the first page.
I was born in Port-au-prince, Haiti but raised in a small province
called Aux Cayes. I grew up with my grand parents and about 15 cousins.
What can I say, when God said " Go and multiply the earth" , my family
took it literally. Don't worry, we weren't all packed up like a box of
sardines, we lived in a big yard, with three houses which my
grandfather build. Oh, before I forget, my birthday is september 19
1983. I will include a P.O. Box at the end, where gifts and checks can
be mailed. I came to this country in 1998, where I went to live with my
father in New-york.Me and father constantly argued. I was developing my
own character and becoming a man.We were too much alike, so we never
saw eye-to -eye. I love my father dearly, but I had to follow my own
path. For the sake of my sanity, I moved to phildelphia with my aunt
and I have been here every since.
I was raised in a catholic family. I became a born again christian
when I was 13 years old. I was in Haiti at the time. The missionaries
came to Aux Cayes to preach the gospel, deliver bibles, and help those
who are less fortunate. I heard a sermon that changed my life, and I
knew at that point, that I had to dedicate my life to God. My family
was always telling me that my mere existence is a miracle. I was
always sick as a child; it was always one illness after another. In
other words, I am not suppose to be alive. The devil had his plans, but
God had a purpose for my life. After I got saved, my health was
restored. Doctors would no longer be able to make a fortune off my
case.God had mercy on me and gave me life. All I want to do is serve
him through the gift that he has given me, which is acting.
I was nine years old when I discovered my passion. I was casted in a
play that was written by a member of the church. The minute that I
stepped on the stage, I became a different person. It amazes me that
I was able to use acting to tell and express the story of a fictional
character. Acting alllows me to be creative, to reveal a part of my
character that's hidden under normal circumstances. I may not be a
singer, a preacher, or a pastor but God granted me the gift of acting .
I want to use my talent to spread the good news of salvation. In the
same manner that people can be saved through a sermon, or a song, a
church play can also touch and encourage a person to change their ways
and come to Christ.
Well ladies and Gentlemen, until my acting career launches off, a
brother got to eat. I am currently enrolled at Community College of
Philadelphia completing the basic core requirements. One of my goals
is to join the Air Force and become a naval pilot. It has always been
my dream to fly a Black Hawk across the sky. I am currently employed at
Caring Hospice services providing comfort care for patients that are
dying. I am also a corner back fooball player for the West Oaklane
Panthers. I try to go to church every sunday and I play the congo drums
in the music ministry. In my spare time, I like to go to the movies,
bowling, skating, playing dominos, soccer and travel with my cousins.
The most important things in my life are God, my family and friends. I
always pray that God keep them safe and well. My prayer is also that
one day, God will grant me the opportunity to let go of my past and
have a family of my own. Ten years from now, I want to testify that I
am blessed and divinely favored man. The Bible says " many are the
plans in a man's heart, but the Lord's pupose shall prevail".I may have
my own plans, but I know that God has already determined my steps. In
the future, I hope to accomplish all my dreams and become the man that
God desires me to be
